What We Do:

LaMa Animal Rescue is changing the way animals are cared for in Northwest Louisiana — and building a model of compassion that reaches far beyond.

  • Shelter & Crisis Response – Providing safe shelter, medical care, and recovery for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals.

  • Foster Network – Creating safe, loving temporary homes that help animals heal and prepare for adoption.

  • Local & Long-Distance Adoptions – Placing pets into loving homes within our community and through trusted northern rescue partners.

  • Transport to Safety – Serving as a lifeline for animals in rural Louisiana through coordinated transports to adoption-ready rescues.

  • Education & Prevention – Promoting spay/neuter, heartworm prevention, and responsible pet ownership to break the cycle of neglect.

  • Community Support – Hosting local food drives, vaccination clinics, and outreach programs that keep pets healthy and at home.

Together, these efforts are transforming what animal care looks like in our region — and proving that compassion creates lasting change.

Impact:

  • Animals saved since 2020: 2,000+ (and growing)

  • Shelter opened ahead of schedule in 2025 in response to escalating abandonment and overpopulation

  • Active transport pipeline linking Louisiana to New England rescue partners
(Add current-year metrics here once finalized, e.g., “Year to date: ___ animals rescued, ___ spay/neuter vouchers, ___ heartworm treatments.”)
